PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how AKOKAN (“AKOKAN,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), developed and published by Karoll William Visual Arts, Inc., handles information when you use the App.

AKOKAN is designed to operate locally on your device. We respect your privacy and have intentionally designed the App so that it does not require an account and does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

AKOKAN does not collect personal information or sensitive user data.

The App does not collect or transmit:

• Names, email addresses, telephone numbers, or postal addresses.
• Account credentials or authentication information.
• Precise or approximate location.
• Contacts, messages, photographs, videos, or audio recordings.
• Financial or payment information.
• Advertising identifiers or persistent device identifiers.
• Browsing history, search history, or activity outside the App.
• Analytics, diagnostics, crash reports, or usage statistics.
• Information for advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking.

AKOKAN does not require users to create an account or provide personal information.

2. INFORMATION STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE

The App may store limited information locally on your device to provide its intended functionality. This may include:

• Language and appearance preferences.
• Widget configuration and personalization settings.
• The four daily counsels selected locally for the current day.
• Other settings necessary to preserve the user experience.

This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to us or stored on servers operated by us.

Local App data may be removed by clearing the App’s storage, uninstalling the App, or using any reset option provided within the App.

3. INTERNET ACCESS AND REMOTE SERVICES

AKOKAN does not rely on a developer-operated server, remote user account, or cloud database to provide its core functionality.

The App does not transmit your locally stored preferences, daily counsel selections, widget settings, or personalization choices to us.

Your device, operating system, application store, or other independently operated services may process technical information under their own terms and privacy policies. Such processing is performed independently of AKOKAN and is not controlled by us.

4. SHARING CONTENT

AKOKAN allows you to generate and share visual cards containing counsels from the App.

When you choose to share content, AKOKAN uses the sharing functions provided by your device. You decide whether to share the content and which external application or service will receive it.

AKOKAN does not receive information about:

• The person or account with whom you share.
• The external service you select.
• Whether the content was successfully published.
• Any subsequent activity involving the shared content.

Once content is transferred to another application or service at your direction, its handling is governed by that third party’s privacy policy and terms.

5. DEVICE PERMISSIONS

AKOKAN requests only the device access necessary to provide its stated features.

The App does not use device permissions to collect personal information, monitor users, track activity, or access unrelated device content.

Any system interface used to add or configure the AKOKAN widget is provided and controlled by the Android operating system or the device launcher.

6. THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING AND TRACKING

AKOKAN does not include third-party advertising.

The App does not use advertising networks, behavioral tracking technologies, tracking pixels, or analytics services to monitor users.

We do not sell, rent, license, or disclose personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.

7. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Because AKOKAN does not collect or store personal information on developer-controlled servers, we do not maintain personal user records that require a remote deletion request.

Information stored locally by the App remains on your device until one of the following occurs:

• You change or reset the relevant setting.
• You clear the App’s storage.
• You uninstall the App.
• The operating system removes the App’s local data.

Uninstalling the App normally removes its locally stored data, subject to the behavior and backup settings of your device or operating system.

8. DATA SECURITY

AKOKAN minimizes privacy and security risks by avoiding the collection and remote transmission of personal information.

Local information is handled through the storage and security mechanisms provided by the Android operating system. However, no device or software environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining reasonable security protections for your device, including access controls, operating-system updates, and secure backup settings.

9. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

AKOKAN does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other user.

Because the App does not provide accounts, advertising, social interaction, direct messaging, or personal-data submission features, it does not knowingly create or maintain profiles of children.

A parent or guardian who believes that personal information has been transmitted to us may contact us using the information below. We will investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

10. INTERNATIONAL USERS

AKOKAN is designed so that personal information is not collected or transferred to developer-controlled servers.

Users may access the App from different countries and regions. Any information independently processed by Google Play, Android, a device manufacturer, a sharing destination, or another third-party service is governed by that service’s own privacy practices.

11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s functionality, data practices, legal obligations, or distribution requirements change.

The revised policy will include an updated effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the App, its store listing, or another appropriate method when required.

Continued use of the App after an updated policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
